School Ethos of: Scoil Eoin Baiste, Fatima Park, Dundalk, Co.Louth
In Scoil Eoin Baiste we are a learning community and our purpose is to guide and support each child in all aspects of his/her education and development. This includes promoting self esteem and academic success, confidence and personal responsibility. Another important element to our school ethos is the respect and dignity shown by all school personnel towards every child. This same dignity and respect should be extended to each person with whom we come into contact with during our school day.
Each person should be treated equally, regardless of ethnic, religious or social background. Each member of our learning community also has a responsibility of care towards our school environment and personal areas of work. Essentially, we strive to create a learning environment that is welcoming, happy, safe and respectful of all its members. We also encourage and celebrate individual successes and achievements.
Anne Holte’s words remind us of what we set out to achieve:
If a child lives with tolerance he learns to be patient
If a child lives with encouragement he learns confidence
If a child lives with fairness he learns justice
If a child lives with praise he learns to appreciate
If a child lives with security he learns to have faith
If a child lives with approval he learns to like himself
If a child lives with acceptance and friendship he learns to find love in the world.
We believe that education is a work of partnership between parents and the school and we believe good communication is what makes this partnership work well.
