Fun with Irish!

The Irish programme we use in school is now available to use online for free while schools remain closed.  This would be a great way to keep practicing simple Irish with your child.  

Here are the instructions to access Bua na Cainte,

  2. Click “Login” and use the following details to login:

  3. Select “Bua na Cainte A” for Junior Infants.

Let’s see what Junior’s got up to last week on Seesaw!


We revised  2D shapes

Juniors went on the hunt in their homes to find 2D shapes and recorded facts all about 2D shapes. 

They also sorted 2D shapes..Check it out… 


Junior Infants started learning about butterflies. We listened to the story “The Hungry Caterpillar”, recorded the food he ate and made caterpillar patterns


We re-visited Art for Kids Hub and learned how to draw a butterfly… These are amazing! 


In phonics, we learned all about the letter x. The children looked for items in their home with the letter x in them!


Junior Infants have been working so hard on their reading using the Oxford Owl website! Keep it up! They even uploaded book reviews this week!

They have also been practising their blending skills by spelling words! check it out!

Week 2 on Seesaw

Junior Infants have been so busy this week on Seesaw. Miss. Reid is so proud of all the Junior Infants and how hard they have been working! She is blown away by all the fabulous work she has been receiving! In addition to the work below, Juniors completed maths work, a book review and an oral report on their favourite animal!

Junior Infants visited Art for Kids Hub on Youtube and did some drawing challenges! They drew dinosaurs, lions and fish! Look at these amazing drawings!


Juniors worked on a new sound in their Jolly Phonics – oo


Juniors also completed a rainy day scavenger hunt inside their homes!

First Week on Seesaw

Junior Infants did some fantastic investigating into floating and sinking using objects they found around their homes!

They have been learning about the letter “y” – they found objects beginning with y and look at their fantastic handwriting too!
