Congratulations to Holly on being awarded Star of the Week last Friday! Well done to Paige for winning the Parachute Competition during Science Week. To top off a wonderful week, the children in 4th Class A enjoyed a well-deserved ice-cream party on Friday to celebrate their fantastic behaviour over the past number of weeks. Keep up the great work, everyone!
Here are some of the topics we have been working on this week:
English – Persuasive Writing
The children created plans for their persuasive pieces and then used these plans to write their opinions on a chosen topic.
Gaeilge – Bia
We began our new theme, Bia, this week. The children created spider diagrams to show all the food-related vocabulary they already know in Irish.
Maths – Time
We have been focusing on the topic of time. The children are making excellent progress and showing great understanding.
Religion – Advent
Following our discussion on Advent, the children have begun working on beautiful candle-themed art.
PE – Hockey, Swimming & GAA
The class are continuing to develop their hockey skills. They are also really enjoying their Thursday swimming lessons and their GAA sessions every Friday.
SPHE – Feelings
This week, we explored how we can recognise and understand our feelings.
History – The Normans
We began our new history topic on the Normans, and the children have shown great interest so far.
Music & Drama – Christmas Plays
We have been working hard to practice our songs for the upcoming Christmas Plays.
