Hi everyone
A brief overview of what your child's learning this week
Maths
We have learned about maps and grids. Being able to read coordinates and place features on a map using North, South, East and West. We have now moved on to lines of symmetry which will include transformation and rotational symmetry.
English
The children are really enjoying reading Fantastic Mr.Fox. They all have had group reading time in class and Louth Library are due to come to school today with more books so plenty of reasons to keep reading and extending their imaginations. The children are working hard on vocabulary, using synonyms when possible. Encourage this at home with " give me another word for" questions
Irish
We are coming to the end of our Me Fein topic. The children have completed their first independent homework and are working hard on the structure of sentences.
SESE
As you can see from the photos the kids had lots of fun during our blind tasting, touching and smelling session. We are learning about our bodies and our senses and we put this to the test. There were some suprise foods for them to work out through taste, touch and smell.
The work on the children's times tables really showed last Friday. Some really big improvements. Please keep pushing on this.
Thanks
Mr.McKay
