5th - 9th January 2026
Welcome back to students & parents in Fifth class! Wishing you all a Happy New Year in 2026!
This week we have been getting back into routine and switching up our seats and classroom jobs.
We spent some time in the school library choosing books to bring back to our class. We also started our new class novel 'Carbonel.'
In English this week, we started a story called 'Monkey Mayhem.'
In Math, we worked on dividing numbers by 10 and 100. We also started long division using the long division family to help us remember the steps. (Dad = divide, Mum = multiply, Sister = subtract, Brother = bring down & Rover = Remainder or Repeat.)
In Gaeilge, we have been practising an ceist 'Cé acu is fearr leat? (Which do you prefer?)
In Religion, we started to learn the songs for the Seinn concert. We also discussed how we see our own qualities vs how other people see us. We went around the class writing down positive notes for each person so they could reflect on their positive qualities.
