A busy week in 6th class
18th Sep 2025
We've had a very busy few days this week, here's an idea of some of the work we have been doing,
๐ค Morning Meetings: We have continued with our morning meetings every day. The pupils are really enjoying them & it's a lovely way to start the day on a positive note and with some fun!
๐งฎ Maths: We have worked on our estimation skills this week - trying to guess how many sweets teacher had in the box! ๐ We have also worked on number and Addition and Subtraction of bigger numbers. Everyday we have continued daily Mental Maths, Counting and Times Tables.

๐ฎ๐ช Gaeilge: Everyone is becoming much more confident in speaking about Mé Féin, discussing themselves and their families.
๐ English: We have completed our first draft of our stories for the Our Class book Project, we can't wait for everyone to read them!
We also explored analogies in grammar this week.
๐ SESE: In Science, pupils explored Native Irish Animals and used the Chromebooks to research information on an animal of their choice. We will complete our projects next week.
In History, we learned about ancient artefacts, local history and museums. This interesting work led us to take our first trip of 6th class where we visited the local County Museum. It was a really interesting trip and everyone learned lots of facts about our local area and it's history.
๐จ Art: Inspired by our research on animals, the class created beautiful paintings of Owls.
Have a great weekend everyone โญ
