A new month in 6th class!
2nd Oct 2025
We marked the end of our first month in 6th this week & what a busy month it was!
📖 English: We received our publishing pack this week for our Class Book Project. The class are working hard on re-drafting their stories and beginning to work on our illustrations.
I will be sending home a note on Monday with more information on the publishing of our book & if any parents would like to pre-order a copy.
🇮🇪 Gaeilge: We have been writing sentences this week about the days of the week, months and learning how to write the date in Irish.
🧮 Maths: This week we finished our topic of Averages, working on some word problems involving averages.
We began looking at Multiplication, using concrete materials to develop strategies for solving Maths problems involving large numbers and multiplication.
🎨 Mali Masks: Our art lesson was inspired by our History topic this week, The Epic of Sunjata, which came from West Africa. We created our own Mali Masks based on the history and culture in the story.
⭐ SPHE: We continued our Stay Safe lessons this week, focusing on feelings safe and unsafe and places or situations we may experience these feelings. See the link below for more information to support your child's Stay Safe learning,

🌈 In other news, we received our Confirmation date this week, if you did not receive this information please contact the office.
Secondary School applications opened this week, again if you need any help, please contact the office.
A gentle reminder to ensure homework is completed daily & to be mindful of our Healthy Eating Policy across the school.
