Beginning of a New Month!
11th May 2026
We have kicked off May with lots of project work and enjoying the sunshine!
Maths: Our topic this week was Time, we looked at changing analogue to digital time and the 24 hour clock.
We also looked at time zones around the world and how to work out the time difference between different countries and cities.
Gaeilge: We finished our theme of Caitheamh Aimsire this week, looking at musical instruments and the vocabulary associated with music as a pastime.
English: We spent time on debates and the language associated with debates. We worked on the comprehension skills of connecting and visualising. We also worked in groups on vocabulary work, looking at the meanings of words and finding words with a similar meaning in a piece of text.
SESE: We began looking at the 1916 Rising and watched videos to expand our knowledge. The pupils, in groups, have started projects on various elements of the Rising.
We also celebrated Sir David Attenborough turning 100 years old on the 8th May. We watched some of his famous works and created projects based on his life and achievements.
Art: We created art titled "Looking through the Keyhole..."
SPHE: We continued our Lust for Life lessons focusing this week on feelings and emotions.
