Fill a Bucket with Kindness 🌈🍀😄
Maths 🧮
In Maths, Senior Infants explored number lines and practised using them correctly by always starting on the bigger number when adding. They played a fun game using two dice where they had to begin on the larger number on the number line and add the numbers together. Whoever landed on the higher number was the winner! We also practiced lots of mental maths focusing on the number bonds of 10.
📖English
In English, we focused on the “ow” sound, identifying it in different words and practising how it sounds. We also revised our tricky words and enjoyed listening to the story The Hungry Little Caterpillar.
SESE🐛
We found a little caterpillar outside so the children got to see how he wriggled. We then left hom in a safe place outside
Irish 💚
In Irish, we learned about pastimes and hobbies (caitheamh aimsire). We practised saying what we can and cannot do using is féidir liom and ní féidir liom. The children also had great fun playing “Hide the Toy” through Irish.
Art🌼🌿👨🎨
In Art, we made beautiful daffodils to celebrate spring. Our classroom is full of lovely bright colours and flowers, thnks to all who took in lovely Spring flowers!
PE 🏃♀️
In P.E., we played a fun “Fetch the Beanbag” relay race.
SPHE🤗
This week we focused on acts of kindness. We listened to the story ''Fill a Bucket'' by Carol McCloud which teaches children that everyone carries an invisible bucket. When we say or do kind things, we fill someone's bucket and make them feel happy. When we say or do unkind things, we dip into their bucket making them feel sad. We created our own classroom bucket, filling it up with all the kind acts we carried out each day.
Grow in Love ✝️
We began looking at some stories about Jesus. This week we looked at when Jesus fed the 5,000 people by feeding them all with just 5 pieces of bread and 2 fish. They leanred that this was one of his miracles.
The children did a fantastic job this week.
Enjoy the ling weekend!
