First Class 13th June

 

Maths

The children have been learning their Number Bonds to 20 this week. They created some rainbow themed posters to help with this and also had lots of fun competing against each other in groups in a series of online games to put their knowledge to the test. The class also revisited the topic of 'Time'. 

 

English

First Class have loved being able to complete word searches and puzzles this week. 

 

Irish 

We revisited saying our numbers in Irish this week. The children worked in pairs to play Snakes and Ladders as Gaeilge. We also explored our new topic ag Siopadóireacht. The children learned the name of lots of new toys. 

 

SESE

We explored different materials that things on our classroom are made from this week. The children also learned about changes that summer normally brings. They completed a task that involved using their 5 senses for this. 

 

Music

The children learned to sing the French song 'Frere Jacques' this week. It opened up an interesting class discussion about new vocabulary, including 'monk' and 'monastery'. The children became fascinated by the idea of bell ringing so we watched some online videos.
