Junior Infants 14th November
14th Nov 2025
Please see below what Junior Infants have been doing this week.
English
The children have been learning the 'a' sound in phonics this week. Check out the link to hear the song we have been listening to https://youtu.be/W_DAyHtns4g? si=LVXVd4OjY7OxMFlt
The children completed lots of fun games, sorting activities and a cut and stick activity in their copybooks to help learn the new sound. It would be a great if you could help your child to spot any things beginning with the 'a' sound this weekend.
Our story this week has been 'Owl Babies' and the children have worked in pairs to look at spot the difference pictures to help develop their oral language skills.
Maths
We have explored the topic of 'Time' this week. The children have been discussing what they do at different times of the day including morning, afternoon, evening and night.
We have been focusing on writing the number 1 and 2 this week as well as counting daily using a number line.
Irish
We have continued with our topic of Bia (Food this week). The children have been playing games and been doing some colouring.
Well done to all the boys and girls on completing their first set of homework last week. They did a brilliant job! Thank you to parents for your support with this.
Religion
We have been learning about the birth of Jesus and starting to sing some new songs in preparation for our Nativity production.
