Here are some of the things Junior Infants have been doing this week as part of our 'Marvellous Me' theme.
English We have been exploring the story of 'the Colour Monster' again this week and have discussed how we all experience different feelings. The children had great fun designing their own unique colour monster characters in their copybooks. The class have been looking at words that rhyme through the use of nursesy rhymes. They particularly enjoyed a different version of the 'Humpty Dumpty' rhyme and different sequencing activities.
Irish The children have been learning the Irish for yellow-buí orange- oráiste black-dubh white-bán They have also been learning the names of different body parts as Gaeilge
Maths The children explored making sets this week through lots of practical activities. We have continued to do lots of daily counting and songs with actions
SESE We discussed the school environment this week and played some games to allow the children to become more familiar with it. We also continued learning about the 5 senses. This included going on a 'sound walk' outside.
