Junior Infants 5th September
The boys and girls in Junior Infants have had a very busy first week! Our theme this month will be 'Marvellous Me'. Take a look below to see what we have been doing
English
The children have been doing lots of circle time work where they have been talking about themselves and their families. They also listened to the story 'Pirates in Pyjamas' by Carloine Crowe and Tom Knight. Check out this read aloud version of the story to enjoy at home https://youtu.be/ZThriU0orjc?feature=shared
They have enjoyed joining in with different nursery rhymes and have been completing lots of fun activities to help develop their fine motor skills.
Irish
The children have been learning some colours as Gaeilge this week. We focused on
Dearg-red, gorm- blue and glas-green
Maths
The children have been making matching pairs this week. They did this as a group while helping Ms McKenna sort her socks into pairs and also independently at their tables. We have been doing lots of daily number chants and songs. Our favourite has been 'One Two Buckle My Shoe'.
SESE
The children have been discussing their own facial features including eye and hair colour and drew a picture of themselves. They also completed some fantastic pictures of their families.
