We had a great week celebrating Maths Week. We also celebrated Lámh Day on Wednesday.
Here are some of the topics and activities we were working on:
English
We focused on narrative writing this week. The children worked hard on creating interesting characters and exciting storylines.
Gaeilge
Our theme this week was “An Scoil.” The children really enjoyed playing oral language games using the conversation dice.
Maths
The children surveyed different classes around the school to collect data for their bar graphs. On Wednesday, we took part in a maths quiz on Zoom, which was a big hit! The children used concrete materials to help them solve the problems and completed a maths trail around the school. We also played many fun maths games throughout the week.
Religion
The children created illustrations of their favourite parables that we have learned about this year.
Art
We finished our Spooky Skeletons this week.
SPHE
We have been exploring the theme of empathy over the past few weeks, learning how to understand and respect others’ feelings.
SESE
The children began working on their projects about Ireland on the Chromebooks.
