Here is what we have been up to in 2nd class this week:

Maths
This week we have finished working on hundreds, tens and units and on representing numbers in different ways. We have started revising some key topics from the past two months such as Shape and Time. Next week we are looking at Addition again.

  • Daily 10: Linked here, we do this every morning in our class as a maths warm up. We usually select Level 2 - Addition - 20 seconds, but feel free to explore the many other options available.
  • Caterpillar ordering - for counting linked here
  • 3-D Shapes - popular demand from pupils in the class, the 3-D shapes matching game linked here.
  • Place Value Basketball -  for hundreds, tens, units linked here.

Literacy

Both 1st and 2nd Class have been working on grammar related to hard and soft "g" words and the difference between There and Their. We have been learning about Europe this week.

Gaeilge

This week we are working on the theme of Caitheamh Aimsire.

Aladdin Production
On Tuesday we attended a production of Aladdin in our school hall by M&M Productions. The pupils really dnjoyed the humourous, interactive play. Pictures attached below.

Congratulations to our pupils of the week, our Mystery Box winner, and our Writing Award winner.

Thank you,

Mr Rice
