Return from Halloween
7th Nov 2025
Hi everyone
The children have settled back brilliantly
They are working hard and here is a taste of what we have been covering
Maths
The children have worked hard on their times tables since the start of the year. This week that has been applied to word problems and how times tables can be displayed. They completed tasks using multiples of 2, 5 and 10.
Irish
Our new topic is Bia. We are adding to our vocabulary with names for foods and then learning how to say what you want for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
English
The children continue to work on both their grammar and writing as well as reading. We have started a new class novel and the children all have new books home with them. Please encourage as much reading as possible.
Music
As you are probably well aware we are practicing using our tin whistles. There may be some squeaking at the moment but with plenty of practice we hope to enjoy making music on our tin whistles.
Swimming
The kids took their first swimming lesson. They really enjoyed it and are excited for next week. Their exemplary behaviour was commented on by various people which shows the high standards they are setting.
We look forward to welcoming you to the parent teacher meetings next Wednesday and Thursday.
