Teen numbers week

15th Jan 2026

Maths

This week we have continued to explore the teen numbers. We have been using hands on materials such as cubes, stacks of ten, 20 bead rekenreks, and ten frames to help make and undertsand the teen numbers. Many children can now add ten and another number (for example, 10 + 3) without using materials.

💚Irish

We are still looking at 'An AImsir'. (The weather) We can now  talk about what is in the sky, for example, ''Tá an ghrian sa speir''. We played a listening game where the teacher called out a skypicture in Irish, and the children listened carefully and drew what they heard, all while the teacher spoke as Gaeilge. :D

📖English

The children have been revising magic e and reading some magic e words. We have also started working in reading groups and going out to prsctice blending our sounds to read words more confidently.
