Week 3 - September 15th-19th
This week in Fifth class the children continued working on oral language conversation skills. They worked in stations, considering ways in which we can alternate and continue a conversation by asking a range of questions to get more information. The children showed great improvement in their conversation skills over the week.
The students completed a piece of recount writing this week from the point of view of Mrs Garcia from our story 'The New School.' We wrote amazing stories and I was very proud of the hard work that the children produced!
In Math, the children have been working on place value and expanding numbers up to ten thousands. The children have also been learning to write numbers as words.
In Gaeilge, we had great fun playing 'Cé hé? (Guess who). The children had to ask questions such as 'Is it a girl/ boy?' and ask questions about the gruaig (hair) of the selected person. They had great fun solving the clues to work out which secret class mate it was.
A great week in Fifth class! Maith Sibh!
