Week 4: 22nd- 26th September

24th Sep 2025

This week in 5th class, we have been reading a text called 'Overcoming Disability to Succeed.' The children had lots of facts to share about Helen Keller and we even tried to use braille to communicate with one another. We also learned about Stevie Wonder, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Stephen Hawking. The children thought of some questions they would like to find out about these famous people and then used the laptops to complete their research. The children found these 4 famous people very inspirational.

In Math we have been working on Place Value. We even used old Chinese counting rods to represent place value, as they did in olden times. Although this was very challenging, the children were persistent in their efforts and worked well in groups to figure this out.

In SESE this week we have been learning about both 'The Renaissance,' and Recycling. The children showed great enthusiasm sharing their knowledge in both subject areas.

We had lots of fun in PE this week too. We have been working on our theme of Athletics. The children used hurdles and practised both jumping and teamwork skills.
