A busy week in 6th class, with lots of activities marking Catholic Schools Week 2026,
🌍 History: We have done fantastic work on group projects based on World War 2 this week, exploring the causes and impact of the war on life at the time.

⭐ SPHE: Stay Safe lessons on the topic of Touches continued this week.
🇮🇪 Gaeilge: Our theme of Bia continued this week. Pupils have worked on past, present and future tense of verbs, writing menus and reading comprehensions on Bia. We also explored new vocabulary for Na Mothúcháin (Feelings) in Irish.
🧮 Maths: Fractions and Coordinates were our topics this week. We worked on word problems involving fractions and multiplying and dividing fractions.
We explored coordinates and finding and plotting items on grids.
🎶 Music: We explored Martin Luther King and his influence on life in America and the civil rights movement.
We explored music and songs that became associated with the civil rights movement, including artists such as Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder.
We also took part in the Seinn ceremony as part of Catholic Schools Week.
✏️ English: We continued reading our novel, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas and did written tasks and language hunts based on the novel.
